Tom Coles was just inaugurated as the new Lord Mayor of Portsmouth, England. His inauguration ceremony is going viral thanks to Metallica and Star Trek.

Per the BBC, Coles decided to shake things up and walk into Portsmouth Guildhall while Metallica’s “Eye of the Beholder” played. “Eye of the Beholder” is featured on Metallica’s 1988 album …And Justice For All.

As if that weren’t enough of a break from tradition, during Coles’ inauguration speech, he briefly spoke in Klingon, which is the language featured in the Star Trek franchise.

Coles told the BBC he “had really good feedback” on his speech. As for his use of Metallica, Coles is a metal fan. He said of “Eye of the Beholder,” “It’s a good song to walk in to. It’s got a little build up and then it’s got a good beat, it’s a great song.”

Video from the ceremony can be viewed below. Additionally, keep scrolling to see where “Eye of the Beholder” landed on our big ranking of every single Metallica song.
