Classic and Contemporary Rock Artists Honor The Cars and New York Dolls

Rockers from both the old and new worlds are joining forces for a great cause at the Honda Theatre in Hollywood, CA. The concert, originally set for January 2025, was postponed due to the Los Angeles wildfires. Now, a new date has been announced along with an exciting lineup.

The show will feature an impressive roster of musicians performing the classic debut albums from the New York Dolls and The Cars in full. Among the artists scheduled to perform are Corey Taylor from Slipknot, Billy Idol, Josh Freese of Nine Inch Nails, Moby, Nuno Bettencourt of Extreme, Steve Stevens from Billy Idol’s band, and Cars guitarist Elliot Easton. Cypress Hill will also make a special appearance. It’s shaping up to be an unforgettable night!

Above Ground, the organization behind the event, was founded by Dave Navarro and Billy Morrison. It focuses on raising awareness and funds for mental health initiatives and suicide prevention. While Navarro and Morrison usually perform at these benefit shows, they have not been listed as performers yet. However, organizers promise to announce the full lineup soon, so they may still join in.

Previous Above Ground concerts have featured big names like Velvet Underground, David Bowie, and The Stooges, raising $750,000 for charity so far. The organization also partners with MusiCares, which supports the health and welfare of the music community through various programs.

Tickets for the Above Ground 4 benefit show are available now. For those who can’t make it to Hollywood, highlights of the concert will likely be available to watch online after the event. Don’t miss out on this chance to support a great cause while enjoying some amazing music!
