When Phoebe Bridgers was booked as the musical guest for this past weekend’s episode of Saturday Night Live, she probably didn’t think it would result in a verbal spat with David Crosby. But, alas, here we are.
At the close of Bridgers’ performance of “I Know The End,” she repeatedly slammed her guitar on a monitor, which resulted in mild sparking.
When asked what he thought of the stunt, Crosby replied on Twitter, “Pathetic.”

Crosby then added, “Guitars are for playing ..making music …..not stupidly bashing them on a fake monitor for childish stage drama …..I really do NOT give a flying F if others have done it before It’s still STUPID.” He followed that up with, “They are not toys …or props …we who’ve played them for our whole lives try to treat the [sic] with respect.” When questioned about when The Who destroyed their instruments, Crosby replied, “Didn’t like them doing it either …stupid dramatics.”

So, what does Bridgers think of all this? She responded to Crosby’s “Pathetic” with, “Little bitch.”

On top of that, Bridgers shared on Instagram, “Got some really great feedback from my performance! Next time I’ll just burn it and it will be more expensive.” Honestly, it’s either that or build up a bit more upper body strength so she can really swing that guitar into a monitor. Guitars are heavier than most would think, and you need a lot of power to smash them.
