Def Leppard, Duran Duran Members, And Walk The Moon Tapped For ‘A Bowie Celebration’

Rolling Live Studios and Mike Garson have revived A Bowie Celebration for a second year. The livestream music event will stream via Rolling Live on January 8 in celebration of what would have been David Bowie’s 75th birthday. Proceeds from the benefit concert will be put forth to Save The Children.

The lineup for the event features appearances from Def Leppard and lead singer Joe Elliott, Duran Duran’s Simon Le Bon and John Taylor, Living Colour, Rob Thomas, Gary Oldman, Evan Rachel Wood, Walk The Moon, Jake Wesley Rogers, and more. An additional special appearance will be made by Ricky Gervais. Throughout the event, Bowie’s lasting impact on music and beyond will be celebrated.

“It’s an honor to be able to continue to share David Bowie’s music with the world,” Garson said. “I’m excited for everyone to be able to experience this very special show we’ve got in store in celebration of what would have been David’s 75th birthday with the bandmates he recorded and performed with, plus a great group of guest artists who he was such an influence to.”

The band for the event will be made up of Bowie’s past band members from different points throughout his career including Garson, who served as the rock icon’s longtime keyboardist, as well as Earl Slick, Charlie Sexton, Alan Childs, Steve Elson, Mark Guiliana, Omar Hakim, Stan Harrison, Tim Lefebvre, Gerry Leonard, and Carmine Rojas.

The 2022 installation of A Bowie Celebration will be dedicated to Mick Rock, the recently departed photographer who worked with Bowie frequently throughout his career. The event will also surface rare, never-before-seen interview footage in addition to celebrating the 35 year anniversary of Bowie’s film Labyrinth.

Following the livestream, A Bowie Celebration will be available on the Rolling Live Studios official website for 24 hours, as was last year’s inaugural stream. Tickets are available on the site now.
