The Frank Zappa archives have some exciting new finds! Among them are items related to the 1975 album *One Size Fits All* by Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention. Eight original promo LPs from 1975 have already sold out, but to celebrate the album’s 50th anniversary, an official reissue is coming this year. Fans can look forward to a five-disc Super Deluxe Edition (4CD/1 Blu-ray Audio) and two special colored vinyl versions.
*One Size Fits All* is the last studio album credited to the Mothers of Invention. It features Zappa with talented musicians like keyboardist George Duke, drummer Chester Thompson, percussionist Ruth Underwood, bassist Tom Fowler, and saxophonist Napoleon Murphy Brock. The album includes fan favorites like “Inca Roads,” “Florentine Pogen,” “Andy,” and “Sofa.”
Also available is the *One Size Fits All – Sheet Music Songbook*, which includes note-for-note transcriptions with tabs for all nine complex tracks. Published by Hal Leonard, this 184-page booklet features an introduction by guitarist Steve Vai. Vai started transcribing Zappa’s music when he was just 18. He noted that he often had to invent new ways to notate the music, which many contemporary composers still use today.
In other news, Zappa’s video company, Honker Home Video, is making a comeback. Originally launched in 1985, it will now operate as an online video service through the Zappa.com store. Honker aims to give viewers the freedom to choose what and when they watch.
