Free Library of Philadelphia to Host Culinary Literacy Events

The Free Library of Philadelphia is offering some exciting culinary literacy programs in the next two weeks. Here’s what you can join:

Tuesday, Nov. 25, 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.: Edible Alphabet: Learn English Through Cooking! (Online)
This free cooking class is perfect for adults learning English. Each week, you’ll cook a meal together on Zoom while improving your reading, writing, and speaking skills. Sign up on the library’s website.

Tuesday, Dec. 2, 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.: Edible Alphabet: Learn English Through Cooking! (Online)
Another chance to join this free class for English language learners. Cook and learn with others online. Registration is available on the library’s website.

Wednesday, Dec. 3, 3:30 p.m.: Cooking for Teens: Cookie Decoration and Hot Chocolate
Teens aged 12 to 18 are invited to the Field Teen Center at the Parkway Central Library, 1901 Vine St. Decorate holiday cookies and enjoy some hot chocolate. For more info, call 215-686-5395 or email the Field Teen Center.

Thursday, Dec. 4, 2 p.m.: Thursday Cooking Classes With Chef Char
Join Chef Char for a fun plant-based cooking class. Learn to make simple soups, salads, and more with fresh veggies. This class will be at the South Philadelphia Library, 1700 S. Broad St.
