Halsey’s breakthrough album, BADLANDS, turns ten this year, and she’s celebrating with a new music video for the fan-favorite track “Gasoline.” This song, which comes from the deluxe edition of BADLANDS, expands on the album’s unique world that Halsey created a decade ago. Fans might even catch a few Easter eggs referencing the iconic BADLANDS imagery.
“Gasoline” has had an interesting journey to success. It wasn’t part of the original BADLANDS release and wasn’t even a single when it appeared on the deluxe version. Halsey wrote and produced it on the album’s due date, surprising her A&R team. Despite this, it has become the most-streamed song from BADLANDS on Spotify, racking up nearly half a billion streams since its release in 2015.
To mark the anniversary, Halsey is releasing three new vinyl editions of her debut album on August 29. These include BADLANDS DECADE EDITION, BADLANDS – Live From Webster Hall, and BADLANDS: ANTHOLOGY. The ANTHOLOGY will feature orchestral versions, demos, and remixes of popular tracks. Live From Webster Hall, Halsey’s first live album recorded in 2019, will also be available on vinyl for the first time.
Halsey shared her excitement about the anniversary, calling BADLANDS “the album that changed my life.” She reflected on the past decade, saying, “I can’t believe it’s been 10 years. So much has happened, but BADLANDS remains the most exciting musical journey of my life.”
