Hear Taylor Hawkins’ Isolated Drum Track on “Rope”

The world is still reeling from the loss of Taylor Hawkins, who passed away suddenly over the weekend. We’ve been paying tribute on the MMR airwaves since the news broke, and many fans have singled out the song “Rope” as one of Taylor’s best performances put to tape.

The Foo Fighters drummer was seamless in his delivery, and he shines on this track from Wasting Light. Our friends at On the Guest List posted the isolated drum part below and summed up his style by saying: “It’s perfect. No one else could keep such a heavy pocket while hitting the syncopated stops and ripping those bell shots in the chorus without stepping on the song. A true master. Love you Taylor”

Whether you’re a seasoned musician or just a lover of all things loud, it’s easy to hear why Taylor was so beloved.
