Bruce Dickinson has wrapped up recording vocals for his upcoming solo album at Dave Grohl’s Studio 606 in Northridge, California. The new project is set to be released in 2027 and follows his 2024 album, The Mandrake Project.
Vocalist Jeff Scott Soto shared the exciting news on Instagram after visiting the studio. He stopped by to see Mistheria, a keyboardist who has worked with Dickinson on his solo projects. Soto wrote, “I arrived at Dave Grohl’s studio right as Bruce was doing some final vocals for his new album. He finished and came out to chat, then asked if I wanted to hear a few of the songs… umm, YEA!!”
Soto was impressed by what he heard. He praised Dickinson’s vocal performance, saying, “He is still singing at the top of his game. The songs, performances, and overall vibe were beyond impressive. I think this outing will be one of his strongest ever outside of the Maiden camp.”
The recording team includes longtime collaborator and producer Roy “Z” Ramirez, who plays guitar and bass. Keyboardist Mistheria and drummer Dave Moreno round out the lineup. Both musicians were part of Dickinson’s 2005 solo album, Tyranny Of Souls.
The Mandrake Project was released in March 2024 through BMG. It was created from sessions that took place between 2014 and the post-COVID period at the Doom Room in Los Angeles.
This year, Dickinson is touring with Iron Maiden. His last solo performance was in August 2002 at the Wacken Open Air festival in Germany, before returning to the stage with his solo band in April 2024.
