Jack White addresses false quotes credited to him regarding ‘forbidding’ people from attending concerts.

Jack White has recently addressed fake quotes attributed to him that have been circulating on social media. In screenshots shared on his Instagram, some quotes claim that White “forbids” supporters of former President Donald Trump from attending his concerts. One of the false quotes states, “If you support that clown [Trump], my shows aren’t for you. Stay home and crank your own noise.”

In response, White clarified, “I’m seeing a lot of nonsense from Twitter, with MAGA people and bots spreading false quotes about excluding people from my shows. I’ve never said anything about ‘forbidding’ anyone from coming to my concerts.” While White has been critical of Trump and his administration—his label, Third Man Records, even sells a t-shirt that says “Icky Trump,” a nod to his song “Icky Thump”—he emphasizes that his music is for everyone.

“I make music to share with anyone who wants to get something out of it,” he said. “I appreciate anyone who buys a ticket or an album to keep that train moving. If you’re not interested, that’s fine too. I’m just not going to let people (or bots) make up false statements from me to get clicks.”

He wrapped up his message by saying, “I’m not trying to make a big deal out of this. I just want my fans, whom I love and appreciate, to know I never said that.
