Jacoby Shaddix Says Papa Roach and Their Peers are ‘The Next Metallicas’

Papa Roach frontman Jacoby Shaddix had some interesting comments related to the state of rock and who’s going to help carry the torch.

Regarding the rock genre, there’s some concern about which bands will be the ones to become the next major arena/stadium headliners. Shaddix said in a new interview, “We’re watching Metallica step into that Rolling Stones spot right now. And Foo Fighters are another one of those groups. And Korn, Papa Roach [and] Deftones, we’re like the next Metallicas.”

However you feel about those comparisons, Korn, Papa Roach and Deftones have more than managed to defy the odds for decades. Korn’s catalog dates back to 1994 and contains 14 studio albums. Papa Roach has 11 studio albums, with their hit major label debut, Infest, released in 2000. Deftones dropped their debut, Adrenaline, in 1995 and have nine studio albums in their catalog.

Papa Roach is currently on tour with their next show taking place on July 20 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. A full list of upcoming tour dates can be found at PapaRoach.com.
