Metallica is currently on their M72 World Tour, and a unique highlight at each show happens before the band launches into their set.
James Hetfield can be seen in plain view smoking a cigar near fans just before taking to the stage. Photographer Lee Jeffries captured the photo of Papa Het below enjoying his cigar. On top of that, Hetfield was also filmed lighting cigars for some lucky front-row fans that held a sign that read “Smoking Club” in the iconic Metallica font.

Fans in North America will get a chance to see Hetfield have a cigar in August when they kick off the first North American leg of the M72 World Tour. (A full list of North American dates is below.) Metallica’s August 11 and 13 shows in Arlington, Texas will also be the site of their big theater livestream. Tickets for that event are on sale now at Metallica.film.
