Jello Biafra, ex-singer of Dead Kennedys, hospitalized after stroke.

Jello Biafra, the founding member and former lead singer of the iconic punk band Dead Kennedys, has been hospitalized after suffering a stroke on Saturday. In an Instagram post shared by his record label, Alternative Tentacles, Biafra described the incident.

He wrote, “I hopped out of my bed because I needed to pee, and my left leg just collapsed under me. I fell to the floor and couldn’t even break my fall with my left arm because it wasn’t working either. I tried to get back up, but I couldn’t. That’s when I realized, ‘Oh s*, I’m having a stroke!'”

Biafra remains stable and is focused on his recovery. He expressed optimism, saying, “I still have a lot of great stuff in me, but right now I gotta do a lot of rehabbing.”

Biafra co-founded Dead Kennedys in 1978 with guitarists East Bay Ray and 6025, bassist Klaus Flouride, and drummer Ted. The band released four albums before disbanding in 1986. They reformed in 2001 without Biafra, leading to a strained relationship between him and the remaining members.

Fans are hoping for a speedy recovery for Biafra, and updates on his condition will be shared as they come.
