Jessica Springsteen, Bruce Springsteen & Patti Scialfa’s Daughter, Headed to Olympics

Jessica Springsteen, daughter of Bruce Springsteen and Patti Scialfa, is heading to the Olympic Games in Tokyo as part of the United States’ Equestrian team.

Per Sports Illustrated, “Springsteen and her horse Don Juan van de Donkehoeve were selected along with teammates Kent Farrington, Laura Kraut and McLain Ward. Brian Moggre and Lucy Deslauriers will be reserves. This will be her first Olympics after failing to be named to the 2016 team when her horse dealt with leg issues for several months.”

Scialfa also shared the news via Instagram writing, “Congratulations to Kent Farrington, Laura Kraut, Jessica Springsteen and McClain Ward!!!”

Before the coronavirus pandemic delayed the Tokyo Olympics, Bruce Springsteen donated a signed Fender guitar and a Harley Davidson motorcycle to be auctioned off to raise money for the U.S. Equestrian Team.

Bruce told U.K. equestrian magazine Horse & Hound, “Patti and I have been involved with the horse world for more than 20 years since Jess started riding when she was five years old. Our lives have been deeply enriched by our involvement in the riding world. I’ve gotten to watch my daughter grow up into a young woman of character and excellence. I’ve gotten to watch the best in the world compete year after year, and I know what that takes.”

Scialfa added, “Helping this country’s equestrian athletes and supporting the US equestrian teams has become a family affair for us.”
