Jessie Buckley And Bernard Butler Share New Collaborative Album ‘For All Our Days That Tear The Heart’

Jessie Buckley and Bernard Butler have released their collaborative album For All Our Days That Tear The Heart, available via EMI Records. The album marks the first official, full-length meeting of the Academy Award-nominated singer and actress and the Brit Award-winning producer and musician.

For All Our Days That Tear The Heart features four previously released singles including the record’s title track and “Footnotes on the Map.” The album spans 12 songs with hyper-visual, storytelling titles like “We Haven’t Spoke About The Weather,” “I Cried Your Tears,” “Seven Red Rose Tattoos,” “Beautiful Regret,” and more.

“More than anything, I wanted it to be joyous – properly joyous – because there is such joy in Jessie, there really is,” Butler shared in a statement. “In spite of the darkness and the intensity in these songs, I’m just flying when I listen back to them.”

Buckley adeed: “Right now, I feel like I’ll never make another album again, because I can’t imagine another album happening the way this one did. It’s amazing that it even happened once. This obscure, organic, odd little thing that just found us.”

Buckley also shared that the overarching goal of a track like “Seven Red Rose Tattoos” was for it “to be like a conversation with the ghosts of my thoughts.” Other tracks on the record, like “20 Years A Growing” and “I’ve Got A Feeling,” were born out of a fervent change of creative ideas between Buckley and Butler.

To celebrate the arrival of For All Our Days That Tear The Heart, Buckley and Butler performed their second-ever live show. Taking the stage at Lafayette in London, the pair performed cuts from the record for the first time since their debut live show at Green Note in Camden in May.
