Joe Walsh is Already Drawing Laughs During ‘Colbert’ Residency

Joe Walsh is taking part in a “residency” this week on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. The Rock & Roll Hall of Famer is sitting in with Colbert’s house band, and already, he’s making folks laugh.

After being introduced, Colbert runs down Walsh’s stellar credentials. Eventually, he gets to the Eagles, who Colbert playfully calls “a little band you slummed with a bit.” Walsh took a moment to point out what a great band Colbert’s house band – Jon Batiste and Stay Human – are, which led to a funny exchange.

Colbert then asks Walsh who he likes playing with better: The Eagles or Stay Human. Walsh responds, “Ummm, it depends.” Colbert says, “Uh-huh. [It depends] what song you’re playing or which Eagle we’re talking about?” Walsh stumbled on his response but then says, “Well, you know…I get a little more money with the Eagles.”

And then the studio audience bursts into laughter, along with the Stay Human, who clearly loved Walsh’s answer.

Walsh recently announced the bill for his annual VetsAid charity concert taking place November 13 in Columbus, Ohio. Including a reunited James Gang, the bill also features Dave Grohl, Nine Inch Nails, the Black Keys and more. Tickets for VetsAid are on sale now at Ticketmaster.com.
