Jonas Brothers, Lenny Kravitz and Pentatonix are among the music acts who will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2023.
“We can’t wait to celebrate them as they become part of Hollywood’s history with the unveiling of their star on the world’s most famous walkway,” said chair and iHeartRadio host Ellen K, in a statement.
Jonas Brothers and Kravitz are being inducted into the Walk Of Fame in the Recording category along with Marc Anthony, Sheila E, Blake Shelton, Charlie Wilson and executive Irving Azoff. Singer Jenni Rivera is set to be honored posthumously.
Pentatonix, along with pianist Lang Lang and singer Melba Moore, will be added to the Walk of Fame in the Live Theater/Performance category and rapper Ludacris is among those being inducted in the Motion Pictures category.
Hollywood Walk of Fame inductees are chosen by a panel of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce from hundreds of submissions approved by the nominees or their reps. The honoree must agree to attend an unveiling ceremony within two years – typically timed to coincide with promotion of a new project.
Canada’s Avril Lavigne is among the big names receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this year.
The 36-year-old Ontario native is one of eight music acts whose names are being added to the famous tourist attraction in 2022. Also receiving stars are Black Eyed Peas, George E. Clinton Jr., Ashanti, DJ Khaled, Motown star Martha Reeves and Los Huracanes Del Norte. Rapper Nipsey Hussle is also set to be honored posthumously.
Lavigne will join other Canadian music artists on the Hollywood Walk of Fame including Bryan Adams, Michael Bublé, Céline Dion, Shania Twain, David Foster and Paul Anka. She has not yet been inducted to Canada’s Walk of Fame.
In itself, the Hollywood Walk Of Fame is a popular tourist attraction, capable of attracting an estimated 10 million annual visitors each year.
