Judas Priest is showing their heavy metal heart! On Tuesday, October 21, Rob Halford and the band announced a generous donation of $100,000 to the Los Angeles Fire Department. This contribution aims to support those affected by recent fires, just ahead of their concert at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on Sunday, October 19. A photo shared with the press shows the band presenting the check.
In other news, Judas Priest recently released a special version of Black Sabbath’s classic “War Pigs,” featuring the late Ozzy Osbourne. All profits from this release will go to the Glenn Tipton Parkinson’s Foundation and Cure Parkinson’s. The project was born from friendship and a shared mission to fight Parkinson’s disease, a cause important to both bands. Originally intended as a tribute video for Ozzy and Black Sabbath, the project evolved into a charity single after Judas Priest couldn’t join them at a show due to prior commitments.
With Glenn Tipton contributing guitar parts despite his battle with Parkinson’s, and Rob Halford and Ozzy Osbourne sharing vocal lines, the new version of “War Pigs” is both powerful and emotional.
In addition, Judas Priest bassist Ian Hill revealed that the band plans to start working on a new album in the new year. He mentioned in a recent interview, “We’re going back into the studio next year. It’s a long process, so I’m in no rush.” Fans can look forward to more music from the legendary band soon!
