Kiss Announces Avatar Show, Film Projects, and Las Vegas Event Following Retirement from Touring

Gene Simmons has exciting news for Kiss fans! The band is working on several new projects, including an avatar concert experience, two movies, and a cartoon series in collaboration with Warner Brothers. Plus, they’ll be hosting another Las Vegas event this November.

Simmons shared these updates while opening the 19th Rock & Brews restaurant in Royal Oak, Michigan. The avatar concert is set to launch in less than two years and will tour globally, rather than being limited to one location. Simmons described the show as a multi-sensory experience. “If you see a dragon coming to scoop you up and it breathes fire, there will be fire all around you, and you’ll feel the heat,” he said. “You’ll even be able to smell it. We attack the senses instead of just focusing on what you see.”

The band first introduced the avatar concept during their final concert on December 2, 2023, at Madison Square Garden, which wrapped up their End of the Road World Tour.

In addition to the concert, two movie projects are in the works. Director McG is set to create a biopic with co-producer Mark Canton, with script changes and casting still ongoing. McG will start this project after finishing his work on Baywatch. A documentary has also been completed but doesn’t have a release date yet. The Simmons Hamilton film company will release “Deep Water,” starring Aaron Eckhart and Ben Kingsley, on May 1. Another film, “Canyon,” featuring Bella Thorne and Mel Gibson, is in development.

Kiss will also host the Kiss Kruise: Landlocked in Vegas this November. Last year’s event featured Simmons, Paul Stanley, Eric Singer, and Tommy Thayer performing without their iconic makeup. Before the November event, Simmons and Stanley will be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame on June 11 in New York City, alongside other music legends.

The new Royal Oak restaurant spans 12,000 square feet over three stories. Simmons is scheduled to visit on April 9 and will perform with his solo band on September 7. Stay tuned for more updates!
