LeBron James And Russell Westbrook Star In Nas’ Cameo-Filled Video For ‘Brunch On Sundays’

In honor of his 48th birthday today (September 14), Nas recruited some of his friends including Swizz Beatz and LA Lakers LeBron James and Russell Westbrook for a feel-good brunch in the new visual for his single “Brunch On Sundays.”

Dressed in their Sunday best in all white, Nas and company wine and dine with friends on the rooftop of LA’s buzzy restaurant Catch.

Directed by Omar Jones and executive produced by Peter Brittenbender and Annie Chen of Mass Appeal, the visual also includes rapper and singers Blxst and Cordae, along with Nas’ daughter Destiny and the track’s producer, Hit-Boy.

Actor and comedian Lil Rel Howery also makes an appearance, raising a toast to Nas, who he calls “one of the OGs in the game.” As far as brunch spreads go, it’s certainly on the luxurious side, with the crew dining on lobster, oysters, and waffles.

“Brunch on Sundays” is a standout track off Nas’s release, King’s Disease II, which features appearances from Eminem, Lauryn Hill, EPMD, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, YG, and more.

Hill’s verse on “Nobody” made waves across the internet, as her rap-heavy bars stole the show. It was an immediate reminder that Ms. Lauryn Hill is still one of the best MCs on the planet. The track is a spiritual sequel of sorts to their 1996 hit “If I Ruled the World (Imagine That).”

King’s Disease II, was released in August as the sequel to his Grammy-winning 13th album and found the rapper and producer Hit-Boy continuing their fruitful tag-team partnership.

“King’s Disease II is a much more confident piece of work than its predecessor, and even with more songs, it feels leaner and more focused. It’s the rare sequel that doesn’t disappoint and surpasses the original,” writes Consequence of Sound in its review.

The album also saw the Queensbridge rapper return to the top of Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart for the first time in just over nine years as King’s Disease II debuted at No. 1 on August 21.
