Slash and Myles Kennedy have teamed up for a new cover of U2 and B.B. King’s classic 1989 single, “When Love Comes to Town.” This cover is part of Joe Bonamassa’s upcoming tribute album, B.B. King’s Blues Summit 100, which celebrates the legendary blues artist.
In this version, blues singer Shemekia Copeland takes on B.B. King’s vocals, while Myles Kennedy sings Bono’s parts. Producer Josh Smith shared that they wanted to include this U2 song to highlight the full range of B.B. King’s career. He noted that the track turned out to be a standout on the album.
B.B. King’s Blues Summit 100 is set to be released on February 6.
In addition to this project, Slash and the Conspirators released their latest album, 4, in 2022, and they are currently working on new music. Slash also collaborated with Kennedy and the band for a cover of “Feel Like Makin’ Love” for a Bad Company tribute album. Fans can look forward to more exciting music from these talented artists!
