Acclaimed band Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real will return to the road this spring with their newly revamped headline tour.
Upcoming shows include Wilmington’s Greenfield Lake Amphitheater (two nights), Charleston’s Charleston Music Hall, Charlotte’s The Fillmore, Birmingham’s Iron City, Athens’ Georgia Theatre, and Memphis’ Minglewood Hall among many others. Tickets for the shows go on-sale this Friday, March 4 at 10:00am local time.
Of the spring dates, Nelson shares, “This revamped spring tour is all about letting loose and having fun. I hope everyone comes ready to dance and fully embrace the communal joy of live music once again!”
Known for their electric live performances, the band has spent much of the past year on the road, performing sold-out shows across the country. Of their extensive fall tour, PopMatters praised, “Nelson seems to conduct a rock sermon of sorts…Promise of the Real continue to impress,” while the San Francisco Chronicle proclaimed, “Nelson is a natural performer with composure and maturity beyond his 32 years, whose stage theatrics brought the crowd to its feet and kept it there” and Glide declared, “As a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, Nelson’s talent seems to be without limits.”
The upcoming performances celebrate the band’s entire catalog of songs, including their widely acclaimed latest album, A Few Stars Apart, which was released last summer via Fantasy Records and spent seven weeks at No.1 on the Americana Albums chart. Of the record, Rolling Stone declares, “His best album yet…Nelson’s most compact, streamlined, and focused album,” while The Tennessean asserted, “a collection of lyrically stirring, musically multifarious and ultimately hopeful roots rock storytelling.”
Produced by Grammy Award winning producer Dave Cobb, A Few Stars Apart is a testament to finding a human connection: between close family and friends, as well as one’s own heart. The album was recorded with the full band live on eight-track tape over three weeks at Nashville’s historic RCA Studio A.
