Marshmello and Jelly Roll have teamed up for their new single, “Holy Water.” This is their first collaboration together. Marshmello created the song’s beat using a 12-string guitar, baritone guitar, and mandolin, along with his signature upbeat beats and lively synths. He played all the instruments himself in his own studio.
Marshmello described the song as “really heartfelt” and one of the most emotional tracks he has ever released. It deals with the theme of losing a loved one, something many people can relate to. When he shared the idea with Jelly Roll, the Nashville artist immediately connected with it, which inspired Marshmello to dive deeper into the sound.
This collaboration is Marshmello’s second venture into country music. His first was the groundbreaking “Miles On It” with Kane Brown, which made history by debuting at #1 on both the Top Dance/Electronic Songs Chart and the Top Country Songs Chart at the same time.
Since his rise in 2015, Marshmello has worked with big names like Halsey, Selena Gomez, and Khalid, racking up 50 billion streams. In 2025, he also released “Worlds Apart” with AR/CO, “Save My Love” with Ellie Goulding & AVAION, and “Slow Motion” with the Jonas Brothers.
Jelly Roll, a five-time Grammy nominee, released his latest album, Beautifully Broken, in 2024. He has collaborated with artists like Jessie Murph, Yelawolf, and Post Malone. His song “Losers” with Post Malone was featured on the 2024 album F-1 Trillion.
