Megadeth previews new track, ‘Let There Be Shred’

Megadeth is set to debut a new song from their upcoming farewell album this Friday. The track is titled “Let There Be Shred” and is the third single released from the album, following “Tipping Point” and “I Don’t Care.” The band shared their excitement on Instagram, saying, “We’ve been waiting to share this with you, and the time has finally come.”

The self-titled farewell album is scheduled to drop on January 23. It will also feature a cover of “Ride the Lightning,” a classic originally by Metallica, the band fronted by Dave Mustaine before he formed Megadeth.

In addition to the new album, Megadeth is planning a multiyear farewell tour. So far, they have announced a North American tour with Iron Maiden set for 2026. Fans can look forward to more updates as the band wraps up their incredible journey in music.
