Metallica Bassist Robert Trujillo’s 12-Year-Old Son Joins Korn on Tour

Korn have recruited Tye Trujillo, the 12-year-old son of Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo, to play bass for the band on their upcoming South American tour.

Korn’s longtime bassist Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu had to ditch the trek due to “unforeseen circumstances,” Korn announced on Facebook, but he’ll rejoin the group in time for their North American tour in May.

“We are bummed Fieldy can’t join us on this run but excited to do a few gigs with a young player like Tye,” Korn added.

Korn’s six-date South American tour kicks off April 17th in Bogota, Colombia and concludes April 27th in Santiago, Chile.

Since the age of eight, Tye Trujillo has been a member of the Helmets, a rock group that has performed at festivals like BottleRock, Lollapalooza Chile and Lollapalooza’s Kidsapalooza stage.
