MGK claims that the criticism he receives is simply a ‘cliché’: ‘That’s the typical response people use to conform.’

Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) kicked off his music career nearly 20 years ago and is set to release his new album, *Lost Americana*, this Friday. Despite facing a lot of online hate, MGK sees it as a cliché. He told fans that the negativity he receives often comes without reason. “I express myself through fashion and music, and I refuse to fit into a societal box,” he explained.

MGK believes that the hate he gets has become so common that it feels like a trend. “People don’t even hate me for a real reason. I just entertain, and entertainment shouldn’t be taken so seriously,” he said. He also thinks many of his critics are men who struggle with their own insecurities. “They expect me to fit a certain mold of masculinity. But we can be strong and still show our emotions and express ourselves however we want,” he added.

With the release of *Lost Americana*, MGK hopes to change some minds. “Maybe this time they’ll see the real me behind the name MGK,” he said. He believes that showing vulnerability has helped him keep his fan base over the years. “The person behind the music needs to show their human side,” he concluded. Fans can look forward to hearing more from him and getting to know the man behind the music.
