Michael Stipe performed at the Democracy Now! 30th anniversary concert on Monday night at Riverside Church in New York City. The R.E.M. frontman sang “No Time For Love Like Now,” a song he recorded with Aaron Dessner from The National and Justin Vernon from Bon Iver for their Big Red Machine project. Dessner joined Stipe on stage for the performance.
The concert featured other big names too, including Bruce Springsteen and Patti Smith. The night wrapped up with all the artists coming together to perform Smith’s anthem “People Have the Power.”
It was a memorable evening celebrating music and activism, bringing together fans and artists for a great cause.
