Miley Cyrus made headlines in October 2020 when she said she was working on a Metallica covers album. Now, the pop star is sharing new details on the project including Elton John being attached to the album.

Speaking with U.K.’s Captial FM, Cyrus said, “I did a Metallica cover of ‘Nothing Else Matters’ featuring Elton John on piano, I’ve got Yo-Yo Ma, Chad Smith. So many all-stars in this band. I’m so excited about this collaboration.”

Cyrus added, “I mean, having Elton John and Metallica and me…I love when ingredients don’t quite fit or it seems like a concoction that no one would ever put together. And you gotta have someone like [producer Andrew] Watt that will take that risk.”

Producer Andrew Watt has been on a roll as of late and received a Grammy nomination for Producer of the Year for his work with the likes of Ozzy Osbourne, Post Malone, Dua Lipa, 5 Seconds of Summer and Zac Brown Band.

While Metallica has yet to publically comment on Cyrus’ covers album, Judas Priest’s Rob Halford said in a recent interview he “can’t wait” to hear Cyrus’s Metallica covers album and added, “That’s going to be great.”
