OMD and Peter Hook & The Light are to headline the UK’s Rockaway Beach Festival in January 2023.

Outside of live music, Rockaway Beach prides itself on having a full programme across the weekend on various stages at Butlin’s, Bognor Regis. Once more there will be film and documentary screenings, Q&As with artists, guest DJs, signings, a record fair, album playbacks and listening parties, late-night takeovers, silent discos, and pub quizzes, plus the various attractions of the Butlin’s site itself.

All tickets are booked via Butlin’s, where there is a comprehensive refund policy in place, and include three nights’ accommodation and access to Rockaway Beach. Tickets are available now from just £85 from the event’s official website.

The organizers have also now confirmed the supporting artists on the bill, with these including including Big Joanie, Billy Nomates, Deep Tan, Hamish Hawk, Fake Turins, Juice Menace, The Pagans S.O.H, Personal Trainer, POZI, and Sinead O’Brien.

This year’s event will be the seventh Rockaway Beach festival and the first since 2020. The festival’s website says, “Our inaugural 2015 event featured amazing sets from legends including Johnny Marr, Spiritualized and The Fall and enabled Beachgoers to discover some of their new favourite bands. The 2016 event featured barnstorming intimate sets from Suede, Killing Joke, St Etienne, We Are Scientists, Wire, and The Wedding Present. 2018 saw the final ever festival performance from Wild Beasts plus The Horrors, Alabama 3, The Orb, Peter Hook & the Light. 2019’s event saw an performances from Gary Numan, Maximo Park, Echo and the Bunnymen, artist Q&As, exhibitions, DJ sets and much more.

“In 2020 we welcomed Fontaines D.C. for their first ever festival headline show, alongside The Jesus & Mary Chain and John Cale – all of whom joined a live Q&A with Rockaway audience. Little did we know at the time that Rockaway Beach was going to be the only live music festival of 2020 due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.”
