Once Human Drop New Song + Video “Sledgehammer” At Metal Injection

ONCE HUMAN RELEASE NEW SINGLE + VIDEO “SLEDGEHAMMER” — WATCH + LISTEN

Once Human have just premiered the new song and video “Sledgehammer” over at Metal Injection. Watch and listen here and here.

The track is the first taste of the band’s next album, due out in 2020.

“‘Sledgehammer’ smashes from start to finish,” says guitarist Logan Mader. “It has insane riffs, relentless drumming, and Lauren Hart just kills it! She showcases totally new and powerful cleans in the massive chorus hook. This marks a new chapter in Once Human’s sound. I had tons of fun producing and mixing this track. I utilized more analog gear than I normally do, so it’s really explosive. Our last album sounds good — but this one actually smokes it.”

Once Human made waves with their 2015 debut The Life I Remember. Since then, the band has dramatically progressed beyond the melodic death metal sound of that release into something more complex, emotional, distinct, and devastatingly heavy. “Evolution” was not just the title of Once Human’s sophomore release, which arrived in 2017. Rather, it was an armor-plated declaration that evolved into something bigger. The video for their lead single “Eye of Chaos” has amassed more than 8.7 million views on YouTube alone. The new single “Sledgehammer“is a testament to the fact that the band’s propensity for evolution has never stopped and that Once Human continue to surprise fans.

Stay tuned for what’s to come in 2020.
