Some fans were surprised when Ozzy Osbourne announced that he finished another new album. And those fans might also be pleasantly surprised to learn that the Prince of Darkness wants to hit the road again. In an interview with The Guardian, he said that he’s going to “give it the best shot I can for another tour.” Ozzy does have some tour dates listed on his official website.
Osbourne is gearing up to release his latest solo album, Patient Number 9, on Sept. 9. During the interview, he also mentioned that he might on another album with his Black Sabbath bandmate Tony Iommi. When talking about his song “God Only Knows,” Ozzy said, “That’s me in a nutshell.” Patient Number 9 also features guest appearances from Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck, as well as Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, Zakk Wylde, Metallica’s Robert Trujillo, Duff McKagan, and the late Taylor Hawkins.
He added, “I’m saying to you I’ll give it the best shot I can for another tour. You have not seen the end of Ozzy Osbourne, I promise you. If I have to go up there and die on the first song, I’ll still be back the next day.”
Ozzy and Iommi recently released “Degradation Rules,” which marked the second single off Ozzy’s new album. The duo also performed together for the first time in over five years at the 2022 Commonwealth Games on Aug. 8.
In other news, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne are moving back to the U.K. into their longtime Berkshire home. In the same interview, they cited “gun as reasons for the move. “Everything’s f—ing ridiculous there. I’m fed up with people getting killed every day. God knows how many people have been shot in school shootings. And there was that mass shooting in Vegas at that concert… It’s f—ing crazy,” Osbourne said, referring to the Route 91 Harvest shooting in 2017. Sharon Osbourne added that “America has changed so drastically. It isn’t the United States of America at all. Nothing’s united about it. It’s a very weird place to live right now.”
