Parker McCollum has received plaques from industry body the RIAA to commemorate multi-platinum and gold sales, as his current sellout US tour continues.

Before McCollum’s show at the Ascend Amphitheater in Nashville, he was presented with the awards by the RIAA’s Jackie Jones, his label team at UMG Nashville, and Red Light Management. They denote double platinum status for his “Pretty Heart” and gold status for “To Be Loved By You,” both of which reached No.1 on the Country Airplay chart. The songs feature on his major label debut album Gold Chain Cowboy, released by MCA Nashville last July.

The new success continues the impressive career momentum of the Texan native, who turns 30 next month and released his first, independent EP, A Red Town View, in late 2013. His first album The Limestone Kid, for PYM Music, followed in 2015.

“What can I even say? I have a double Platinum hit and a Gold hit to start my career at the best record label in music,” said McCollum. “Universal Music Group Nashville/MCA Nashville has been incredibly patient with me and allowed me to craft these songs the same way I always have. I am forever grateful for this opportunity to swing it in the big leagues of country music. We are just getting started.”

McCollum will perform at this year’s CMA Fest for the first time next month, when he plays the Nissan Stage on June 12 at 7pm. In another first, he will make his debut on ACL Live on July 26. Meanwhile his tour continues at American Family Field in Milwaukee on Saturday (May 28), with a vast array of dates taking him all across America until October. Last month, he released his Amazon Original version of “Perfectly Lonely” by one of his biggest influences, John Meyer, for Amazon Music.
