Petey USA is hitting the road for a North American tour to promote his new album, *The Yips*. He plans to play songs from the new album as well as tracks from his previous albums, *Lean Into Life* and *USA*. The tour kicks off on August 29 at Newport Music Hall in Columbus, Ohio, and wraps up on November 6 at The Moore Theatre in Seattle, Washington.
Special guest Alex Cameron will join Petey on this tour. Notable stops include Webster Hall in New York City on October 13, The Wiltern in Los Angeles on October 29, and The Fillmore in San Francisco on November 1. Some cities will also feature tailgates, with details to be announced later.
Fans can purchase VIP tickets for a special pre-show experience that includes an intimate acoustic performance.
*The Yips* is Petey’s third studio album, released by Capitol Records. Produced by Chris Walla, known for his work with Death Cab for Cutie, the album is a concept piece set in a fictional dive bar. Each song represents different patrons having heart-to-heart conversations. The lead single, “As Two People Drift Apart,” features a video with influencer Vince Hacker.
The album’s title refers to “the yips,” a term for performance anxiety in sports, which Petey connects to everyday life struggles. He describes the album as exploring times when nothing seems to go right, leading people to seek comfort in a bar. Working with Walla was a dream come true for Petey, who has long admired his work.
