Genesis is slated to kick off their The Last Domino? tour on September 20 in Birmingham, England and will bring the tour to North America on November 15 in Chicago. From the sound of it, this could likely be the last chance to see Genesis live on tour.
When asked if more dates are planned for 2022, Phil Collins told Mojo (as transcribed by Prog), “This English and American tour, that will be enough for me.”
Keyboardist Tony Banks, however, differs in opinion telling Mojo, “I think it depends a little bit how it goes. How Phil stands up to it all. How the audience receive it, and how we all feel about it, really.”
This Genesis reunion tour will feature the lineup of Collins, Banks and guitarist/bassist Mike Rutherford. Collins will be exclusively on vocals and is no longer able to play drums due to extensive nerve damage. He announced his retirement from music years ago, but returned in 2015. In recent years, he’s toured arenas with his solo band, singing from a chair. His son, Nic Collins, has been his drummer and will be playing on the Genesis tour as well.
