Queen is set to release a special Collector’s Edition of their iconic album, Queen II, on March 27 through Hollywood Records. This new edition features a remixed and remastered version of their second studio album, along with a treasure trove of extras.
The Collector’s Edition comes in a 5CD+2LP box set that includes rare tracks, fly-on-the-wall studio recordings, and previously unheard outtakes and demos. Fans can also enjoy live tracks from concerts and radio sessions. To top it off, a 112-page book is included, filled with stunning photographs, handwritten lyrics, diary entries, and memorabilia. The book also features stories from band members Brian May, Roger Taylor, John Deacon, and Freddie Mercury about the writing and recording process.
This reissue will be available in several formats: a 2xCD Deluxe Edition, standard Vinyl LP, Vinyl Picture Disc LP, single CD, and cassette. Each version includes the new 2026 mix of the album.
Roger Taylor described Queen II as a turning point for the band. He said, “I don’t think the album sounds like anyone else. We gained a mental identity, a group identity, and we were just doing what we did.” The original album reached No. 5 on the UK album charts in 1974, and the single “Seven Seas Of Rhye” hit No. 10, marking Queen’s first big success. Critics have called the 1974 release the heaviest in Queen’s catalog.
Fans can pre-order the Collector’s Edition now and look forward to celebrating this classic album!
