Rival Sons: Watch Them Cover Olivia Newton-John’s ‘Hopelessly Devoted to You’

Rival Sons once covered an Olivia Newton-John classic, and it’s truly stunning.

The cover is a stripped-down version of “Hopelessly Devoted to You” from the 1978 movie musical Grease. Rival Sons singer Jay Buchanan and guitarist Scott Holiday performed the cover for a video feature for Paste Magazine. Simply put: Buchanan belts the hell out of the ballad.

Newton-John died on August 8 at the age of 73. An exact cause of death was not confirmed, but the singer/actress had on-and-off bouts with breast cancer since 1992.

He added, “We will see you down the road, and we will all be together again. Yours from the first moment I saw you and forever! Your Danny, your John!”
