Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2025: The White Stripes are honored.

The White Stripes were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame at a ceremony in Los Angeles on Saturday. Iggy Pop, a fellow Detroiter, welcomed the band and talked about the unique musical bond between Jack White and Meg White, who were once married. He praised Meg’s drumming, saying, “[Meg] played the drums for the benefit of her band … she gave the drum kit a good whack! I think it was Meg’s support that helped launch the rocket of racket that was Jack White.”

Meg, who has kept a low profile since the band split in 2011, did not attend the ceremony, but Jack was there. In his acceptance speech, he shared a message from Meg. “She said that she’s very sorry that she couldn’t make it here tonight, but she wanted me to tell you that she’s very grateful to all the folks who supported her through all the years,” Jack said.

He wrapped up his speech by saying, “My sister thanks you, and I thank you,” a phrase he often used during their concerts. Although Jack was present and spoke, he chose not to perform. Instead, the audience enjoyed a tribute featuring Olivia Rodrigo and Feist singing “We’re Going to Be Friends,” followed by Twenty One Pilots performing “Seven Nation Army.”

Highlights from the 2025 Rock Hall induction ceremony will air on January 1 on ABC.
