Scott Stapp will be playing Frank Sinatra in Reagan, a new Ronald Reagan biopic slated for release in 2021.

Per Billboard, “The project will include a scene in which Stapp will perform as Sinatra at the famed Cocoanut Grove, at a time when Ronald Reagan was president of the Screen Actors Guild and the club was a staple of old Hollywood.”

The Creed frontman’s turn as Sinatra will mark the singer’s film debut, and he’ll be doing so with a very impressive cast. Dennis Quaid will be playing Ronald Reagan, while Penelope Ann Miller will be playing Nancy Reagan. Other notable cast members include Mena Suvari as Jane Wyman, who was Reagan’s first wife, and Kevin Dillon as Warner Bros. Studios founder Jack Warner. Jon Voight will be portraying KGB agent Viktor Novikov.

In a statement, Stapp said, “Sinatra in performance mode was an exercise in restraint. He had this steely, stylish swagger and his sheer presence commanded a room. I was excited to join the cast and blown away by the on-set attention to detail, style, and overall production.”
