Seether to Launch New EP Titled ‘Beneath the Surface’

Seether isn’t done with their last album yet, and that’s a good thing. Instead of moving on, they’re circling back with a new EP titled *Beneath the Surface*, set to release on April 17. This four-song collection feels less like a victory lap and more like unfinished business that the band is addressing on their own terms.

The EP follows their 2024 album, *The Surface Seems So Far*, which showcased their signature sound of heavy guitars and emotional melodies. The new EP maintains that vibe but tightens the emotional grip.

Two new tracks lead the release: “Proud Daddy” and another yet to be named. “Proud Daddy” is already out and hits hard right from the start. It’s heavy in the classic Seether way, focusing on weight rather than flash. Shaun Morgan delivers the song with a calm intensity, allowing the tension to speak for itself.

The EP also includes live versions of “Judas Mind” and “Lost All Control,” both from *The Surface Seems So Far*. These tracks capture the raw energy of the band in a live setting, offering a more honest and gritty sound. If you’ve seen them perform recently, you’ll recognize the energy between the notes.

*Beneath the Surface* is described as a companion piece and a closing chapter. It doesn’t feel like a complete reset, but rather a collection of final thoughts from their last album, wrapped in a fresh rock package. The music has a bit more bite, while the emotional core remains strong.

Seether will hit the road again in September, touring with Staind. It’s a fitting pairing, as both bands share a post-grunge sound from the same era. It promises to be an exciting few nights for fans of heavy music.
