Soundgarden hints at ‘more to come in 2026’

Soundgarden has exciting news for fans after their induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2025. The band shared on Instagram, “2025 was super busy! There’s more to come in 2026!”

Fans are hopeful this means the long-awaited final Soundgarden album could be on the way. The band had been working on new music before the tragic passing of frontman Chris Cornell in 2017. However, the release has been delayed due to a dispute with Cornell’s estate, managed by his widow, Vicky Cornell.

In 2023, Soundgarden and Vicky Cornell reached an agreement to allow new music to be released, but drummer Matt Cameron later mentioned that plans for the album are still on hold.

At the Rock Hall induction ceremony in November, surviving members Matt Cameron, guitarist Kim Thayil, and bassist Ben Shepherd performed alongside Jerry Cantrell from Alice in Chains and Mike McCready from Pearl Jam, as well as guest vocalists Taylor Momsen and Brandi Carlile. They also reunited with original bassist Hiro Yamamoto.

Soundgarden expressed their gratitude, saying, “Thank you for your continued love and support. We felt your affection during the induction ceremony, and it made us proud.”

Highlights from the ceremony aired on ABC and are now available to stream on Hulu. Keep an eye out for more updates from Soundgarden in 2026!
