Taylor Swift Shares ‘All Too Well (Sad Girl Autumn Version)’ Recorded At Long Pond Studios

Taylor Swift has added yet another variation to the expanding universe of Red deep cut “All Too Well” with “All Too Well (Sad Girl Autumn Version)” recorded at Long Pond Studios in upstate New York.

The piano-based recording builds on the release of “All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor’s Version) (From The Vault)” which coincided with the arrival of Red (Taylor’s Version).

“One of the saddest songs I’ve ever written just got sadder,” Swift wrote on Twitter. “Drove up to Long Pond Studios to record All Too Well (Sad Girl Autumn Version) with the besties.” She then tagged The National’s Aaron Dessner and producer Jonathan Low.

Over the weekend, Swift performed the full 10-minute version for the first time on Saturday Night Live. While she ran through the track’s harrowing recounting of a past relationship, footage from All Too Well: The Short Film played on the backing screen.

Ever since the singer first mentioned in a 2012 interview that the initial five and a half minute version was originally meant to be 10-minutes in length, fans have been begging her to unearth the full rendition. Now that it’s out, they can’t get enough.

While the hype of “All Too Well (Taylor’s Version)” and all of its many variations have dominated the conversation since arrival, Red (Taylor’s Version) as a whole is shaping up to be a record-breaking release.

According to MRC Data, the album racked up over 500,000 equivalent album units in the US within its first five days. The biggest sales week of the year, the project also broke the record for largest sales week for a vinyl album in the modern era with 105,000 vinyl LP sales.

Red (Taylor’s Version) is the second release of Swift’s ongoing re-recording process, joining Fearless (Taylor’s Version) which arrived earlier this year.
