Tears For Fears is celebrating the 40th anniversary of their iconic album, *Songs From The Big Chair*. To mark the occasion, a variety of expanded editions will be released on November 14 through UMR Records. You can pre-order them now on vinyl, streaming, and CD.
Originally released on February 25, 1985, *Songs From The Big Chair* topped the US charts and produced five hit singles: “Mothers Talk,” “Shout,” “Everybody Wants To Rule The World,” “Head Over Heels,” and “I Believe.”
Fans can look forward to a Limited Edition 2LP transparent red vinyl, featuring original unused artwork and tracks that have never been on vinyl before. This includes “Shout (Alternative Mix),” “The Working Hour (Piano Version),” and more. The original album is also available on a limited edition 1LP Coke Bottle Clear vinyl and a 1LP picture disc.
For collectors, a 3CD deluxe set will include the original album and b-sides. Disc two is titled “Edited Songs From The Big Chair,” while disc three features “Remixed Songs From The Big Chair.”
This album followed their 1983 debut, *The Hurting*, which included hits like “Mad World” and “Change.” After their last collaboration on 1989’s *Seeds of Love*, Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith reunited for 2004’s *Everybody Loves A Happy Ending*. They released a “Best Of” collection in 2017 and returned with their first studio album in 17 years, *The Tipping Point*, in 2022.
