By popular demand, The Beatles’ Anthology 4 is now available for order as a standalone 3LP and 2CD set. This new release is part of the recently expanded Anthology collection, which now includes four volumes. Previously, it was announced in a 12 LP vinyl box set, an 8 CD box set, and digital formats. The 2CD and 3LP editions of Anthology 4 will be released on November 21.
Curated by Giles Martin, Anthology 4 features 13 unreleased demos and rare sessions from 1963 to 1969. It also includes new mixes of the Grammy-winning singles “Free As A Bird” and “Real Love,” produced by Jeff Lynne. These tracks are paired with the band’s latest UK No. 1 hit, “Now And Then,” which won a Grammy in 2023. All three singles were created from home demos recorded by John in the 1970s, later completed with contributions from Paul, George, and Ringo. The new mix of “Free As A Bird” is out now, along with a restored music video.
The double CD comes in a gatefold digisleeve with a 48-page booklet and includes 17 songs that have never been on CD before. The triple LP set is pressed on 180g vinyl and features 26 tracks making their vinyl debut. Both editions include track notes by Kevin Howlett and an introduction from Derek Taylor’s 1996 interview.
In addition to the music, the 25th Anniversary Edition of The Beatles Anthology Book will be released on October 14. This bestselling book has 368 pages filled with over 1,300 photos and documents from the band’s archives. Plus, a new ninth episode of The Beatles Anthology documentary series will stream exclusively on Disney+ starting November 26.
