The Black Crowes are diving back into Amorica! The legendary Atlanta rock band has announced a major reissue of their 1994 album, packed with bonus tracks and lots of previously unreleased material. Amorica came from the sessions for their scrapped album, Tall, but some of those songs made it onto Amorica, including the hits “A Conspiracy,” “High Head Blues,” and “Wiser Time.”
The highlight of the reissue is the super deluxe box set, available in 5LP and 3CD formats. Both versions feature a new remaster of the original album and a full lineup of bonus content. This includes Tallest, a collection of new mixes from the Tall sessions, with three never-before-heard songs. The super deluxe edition also has Marie Levau mixes, featuring seven unreleased tracks, and a Live 10” with four recordings that were only aired on local radio.
The 5LP box set is pressed on 180g black vinyl and comes in a sturdy slipcase. It includes a slipmat, a debossed envelope with a 20”x30” poster, a bumper sticker, and a special fanzine. Fans can also grab 2LP versions of the Amorica remaster on black or clear vinyl, along with a 1CD edition.
Amorica was the Crowes’ statement that they were still a top rock band during the grunge era. To celebrate the reissue, brothers Chris and Rich Robinson shared a new hour-long conversation about the making of Amorica and the famous “mushroom party” that inspired the album’s visuals.
