The comeback of Free-zer: Josh Freese drumming for Weezer during the South American tour.

Josh Freese is back with another band! After rejoining Nine Inch Nails, the drummer is set to hit the road with Weezer for their upcoming South American tour, starting this Sunday.

Freese shared the news on Instagram, posting a photo of a drum set with the Weezer logo. He captioned it, “Getting ready to head down to South America with some old friends.”

Freese was Weezer’s touring drummer from 2007 to 2012 while their usual drummer, Pat Wilson, played guitar. Wilson later returned to drums, a change that was humorously mentioned in Weezer’s 2014 song “Back to the Shack.” In the song, they sing, “Maybe I should play the lead guitar and Pat should play the drums.”

A representative for Weezer confirmed that Wilson will be on guitar for the South American tour, while Freese takes over on drums.

Freese rejoined Nine Inch Nails in July for their Peel It Back tour after parting ways with Foo Fighters in May. Fans can look forward to seeing him rock out with Weezer soon!
