The Last Dinner Party Unveils New Sophomore Album Titled ‘From The Pyre’

The Last Dinner Party has announced their new album, *From The Pyre*. The U.K. five-piece also released the first single, “This Is The Killer Speaking,” along with a music video. This album is the follow-up to their debut, *Prelude To Ecstasy*, which came out in 2024. *From The Pyre* will be available on October 17th through Island Records.

In a statement, the band described the album as a collection of stories tied together by the concept of “The Pyre.” This place symbolizes both destruction and renewal, filled with passion and light. The songs are character-driven yet personal, taking everyday experiences to extreme levels. For example, being ghosted turns into a dramatic chase, and heartbreak faces off against the apocalypse. The lyrics feature vivid imagery, including rifles, saints, and blazing fires, capturing the emotional weight of their experiences.

The band noted that this record feels darker and more grounded, set against a stunning landscape rather than a fancy table. It also has a playful, self-aware tone.

The lead single, “This Is The Killer Speaking,” showcases the band’s Western and mythological influences. The music video features guitarist Lizzie Mayland as a cowboy pursuing lead singer Abigail Morris, who appears as a centaur. Morris sings, “I’m down so bad I’m doing time / You look like a weeping saint / With your infected eye.”

The group started working on this album earlier this year with producer Markus Dravs, known for his work with Wolf Alice and Florence & The Machine. Don’t miss out—pre-order *From The Pyre* now!
