The Pretty Reckless is set to release their fifth studio album, *Dear God*, on June 26 through Fearless Records. It’s been five years since their last album, and frontwoman Taylor Momsen describes this new work as her most personal yet. “I love this record so much because it feels like me,” she shared in a recent interview. “There’s an honesty and a bluntness to the songs that feels almost directly ripped out of my diary.”
Momsen explained the five-year gap between albums during a radio appearance on March 18. The recording process took two years due to scheduling conflicts, but she also emphasized the importance of taking time to live life. “I have to have something to write about,” she said.
Momsen and guitarist Ben Phillips wrote all the songs without any outside help. “This record is me through and through, in a way that we haven’t fully explored before,” she noted. “It feels like The Pretty Reckless in the most authentic way.”
The band recently released their latest single, “When I Wake Up.” The track features punk-driven guitars and powerful vocals from Momsen. *Dear God* will also include their hit single, which reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart last November, marking their fourth consecutive No. 1.
To support the album, The Pretty Reckless will kick off the *Dear God* tour in North America, with stops in New Orleans, Dallas, and Los Angeles before heading to Europe. This tour follows their two-year stint with AC/DC on the Power Up tour. Fans can pre-order the new album and check out the tour dates soon!
