Toni Cornell describes her performance at the Rock Hall as “one of the greatest honors of my life.”

Toni Cornell recently reflected on her performance at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, where she played Soundgarden’s “Fell on Black Days” with Nancy Wilson of Heart. This performance was a tribute to her late father, Chris Cornell.

In an Instagram post, Toni shared, “Performing ‘Fell on Black Days’ was one of the greatest honors of my life, and one of the hardest things I’ve ever done.” She expressed that her father’s absence is always felt, but singing his songs brings her closer to him. “I’m so grateful I got to share this moment for him, and with him, in some way,” she added.

Toni, now 21, recalled being just 6 years old when Soundgarden reunited in 2010. She described the experience as “witnessing something extraordinary” as she watched her dad reunite with his bandmates for their first show since 1997.

She emphasized that Soundgarden deserved to be in the Rock Hall from the start. “A huge congratulations to Matt Cameron, Kim Thayil, Ben Shepherd, and Hiro Yamamoto, and especially to my dad, who should have been here to share this moment with his bandmates. I know how proud he is,” she wrote.

In the comments, drummer Matt Cameron praised Toni, saying, “Amazing job Toni.” Fans are celebrating this heartfelt tribute and honoring the legacy of Chris Cornell and Soundgarden.
