VIDEO: Metallica Perform ‘Nothing Else Matters’ with St. Vincent

Metallica held their third Helping Hands Concert & Auction this past weekend, and the band was joined by St. Vincent during the charity concert.

The singer-songwriter (aka: Annie Clark) performed the band’s classic power ballad “Nothing Else Matters” during the concert, which took place at Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. James Hetfield introduced Clark telling the crowd, “We’re gonna bring a new friend of ours out here. Her name is Annie.” before launching into the popular “Black Album” track. Fan shot footage of the performance can be viewed below.

The choice of Metallica performing “Nothing Else Matters” with St. Vincent was interesting considering she covered “Sad But True” for the 2021 all-star covers album The Metallica BlacklistThe covers album featured over 50 artists from the worlds of rock, pop, country, hip-hop and beyond putting their own spin on the classic tracks that make up “The Black Album.” St. Vincent’s rendition of “Sad But True” can be heard below.
