If your parent used to be in a band before you were born, and you’re looking for the perfect gift, you may want to consider doing what TikTok user Mateo (@fuegotao) did.
Mateo explains in a voiceover, “My dad’s birthday was coming up, and I wanted to do something special for him. He loves music and was in a couple of bands and whatnot. [He] ended up losing all of his music over the years and hasn’t heard it since it was recorded in 1992, so about 30 years ago.”
He continued, “I looked, digging online, found [an album] somehow and got it shipped to my house…I tried [transferring the cassette to an MP3] myself. Didn’t come out too hot, so I ended up taking it to an audio master, got it mastered, and this is me uploading it to Spotify, Apple, all the good stuff…This is my dad’s reaction right here.”
Mateo’s dad is clearly stunned and can’t believe he’s hearing his music again while driving in the car. It’s truly a sweet, touching video. Kudos to Mateo for the incredibly thoughtful gift and sharing the idea with the world. We’re sure there are plenty of other kids that will try and do the same for their own parents.
Stoked to be able to make this happen, Happy Birthday Pops! #dadsoftiktok #music #punk #rock
